Carolin Kaltofen-Ngwenya lives and works in Überlingen on Lake Constance/Germany. She was born in 1980 in Burgstädt/Saxony and studied social work at the University of Kassel and art history and religious studies at the University of Göttingen.

She began her artistic career in 2018.

Her genre palette ranges from portrait and animal painting to landscape painting and abstract painting.

In doing so, she tries above all to capture certain moods or states of mind of her subjects and, influenced by her own feelings, to reproduce them either as realistically as possible or in an abstract way using colors and lines.

Her materials are mainly watercolor, acrylic or oil paints on paper or canvas.
